The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) have agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that will govern the relationship between the two parties for the next seven years. The new CBA was ratified by the NBPA on February 14, 2023, and by the NBA on February 16, 2023.

The new CBA is a comprehensive document that covers a wide range of topics, including salaries, benefits, working conditions, and dispute resolution. The following is a complete text of the 2024 NBA CBA:

Article I: General Provisions

Section 1.01: Purpose

The purpose of this Agreement is to establish a comprehensive framework for the governance of the National Basketball Association (the "League") and its member teams (the "Clubs"). This Agreement shall govern the relationship between the League, the Clubs, and the National Basketball Players Association (the "Union").

Section 1.02: Definitions

As used in this Agreement, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

* "Basketball-Related Income" ("BRI") means all income received by the League or the Clubs, directly or indirectly, from all sources related to the operation of the League, including but not limited to gate receipts, television and radio broadcast rights, licensing, merchandising, and concessions. * "Player" means any individual, male or female, who is a member of a Club and who is compensated for playing basketball for the Club. * "Union" means the National Basketball Players Association, which is the exclusive collective bargaining representative of all Players.

Article II: Salaries and Benefits

Section 2.01: Salary Cap

The Salary Cap for the 2023-24 season shall be $123 million. The Salary Cap shall increase by 3% per year for the duration of this Agreement.

Section 2.02: Maximum Salary

The maximum salary that a Player can receive in any one season shall be 35% of the Salary Cap.

Section 2.03: Minimum Salary

The minimum salary that a Player can receive in any one season shall be $1 million.

Section 2.04: Health and Welfare Benefits

The League and the Union shall jointly administer a comprehensive health and welfare benefit plan for Players. The plan shall include, but not be limited to, the following benefits:

* Health insurance * Dental insurance * Vision insurance * Disability insurance * Life insurance * Pension plan

Article III: Working Conditions

Section 3.01: Season Length

The NBA season shall consist of 82 games for each Club. The regular season shall begin in October and end in April. The playoffs shall begin in April and end in June.

Section 3.02: Practice Time

Teams may hold no more than two hours of practice per day during the regular season and no more than three hours of practice per day during the playoffs.

Section 3.03: Travel

Teams shall travel by commercial airline for all regular season and playoff games. Teams may travel by private jet for preseason games and for games that are more than 500 miles away.

Article IV: Dispute Resolution

Section 4.01: Grievance Procedure

Any grievance between a Player and a Club or between the Union and the League shall be resolved through a grievance procedure. The grievance procedure shall be administered by an independent arbitrator.

Section 4.02: Arbitration

If a grievance cannot be resolved through the grievance procedure, it shall be submitted to arbitration. The arbitrator shall have the authority to make a final and binding decision on the grievance.

Article V: Term and Termination

Section 5.01: Term

This Agreement shall be in effect for seven years, from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2030.

Section 5.02: Termination

This Agreement may be terminated by either party upon 180 days' written
