After leaving seminary, Casanova embarked on a series of adventures. He traveled to Naples, Rome, and other cities in Italy. He studied medicine, law, and mathematics. He also began to write, publishing his first novel, "The History of My Life," in 1738.

Casanova's adventures eventually caught up with him. In 1763, he was arrested in Spain and sentenced to death. However, he managed to escape from prison and flee to France. He spent the rest of his life in exile, living in Paris, London, and other cities.
Later Life and Death
In his later years, Casanova became more reflective and philosophical. He wrote several books on his travels, his adventures, and his philosophy of life. He also became a friend of the French philosopher Voltaire.
